Hmmm looks like the unburnt dead baby was only 6 weeks old and thus could not have been imunised. They rely entirely on herd immunity untill 6 months or so. Interestingly here in australia they are letting babies get immunised at 2 months to get partial immunity as the anti vacs’er ar here in force.
Mind you we have been kicking their ass here, removed their charity status, got them audited by the tax dept and forced the to change their name.

Another great episode. Love your rant re the antivax nutbags. Meanwhile amazon.com is still selling “Melanie’s Marvelous Measles without modifying the blurb written by the authors. The whole point of the book is to convince kids that vaccines are a bad idea and getting Measles is good for you. I have a petition at

I enjoy listening to your show! There is a minor point I would like to address, however. The baby who died of pertussis might not have been old enough for the vaccine; the shot is not given until 2 months, and before that the babe is vulnerable. That is why it is critical to keep the adults and other children up to date on vaccines when a newborn is expected. I understand this family did not vaccinate at all, so no immunity could be afforded to the poor thing–but i did want to make that distinction. Pertussis is an awful way to go.
