God knows I can’t pronounce that, and none of our English friends could either, but our friend Mick’s girlfriend Jessie was Welsh, and could roll it right out there.

Basically what he said out loud, was: “I wasn’t nasty to her like I always am… Except I was”, and his audience hears both parts of the message, without connecting them.
If asked, they would both claim he was nice to her, and that “he got her good” by insulting her memory of her husband.

What he describes in “remember the dish washer” slapstick of a monologue, is a commercial for a dish washer.
You mentioned your trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. We lived in Chicago from 1950 to 1954 and my father made sure we went to the museum every year. The buttons and levers were broken even back then. There was a display of gears and levers in one of the stairwells that worked and fascinated me.
