While you were commenting about the “Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?” I couldn’t help wondering about the female version of this: “Why buy the pig, if all you want is a little sausage?”
Guys
Good show as always. One small point I have to take issue with is in the piece on Saudi Arabia and the arbitrariness of Sharia Law. You seemed to imply in a scoffing way that Sharia Law as practiced in Saudi Arabia is only slightly more arbitrary than the US justice system. If there is one aspect of the US government that I have a lot of confidence in it is the US justice system – especially the federal system which does not take matters of justice arbitrarily. One need look no further than the evolution of the gay marriage issue (and human rights in general) within the courts at both state and federal levels as an example of how our justice system is so drastically different. It allows itself the latitude to evolve and change and not in an arbitrary or haphazard way which is the nature of justice systems based on religious doctrines. The enlightened wisdom of our stoic ancestors can be seen when observing how our justice system functions. I know that your comments were probably facetious but they also breed the kind of knee-jerk cynicism that gives people leave to doubt America in a rather unhealthy way. This is especially true when a comment like this is made non sequiter in relation to a place like Saudi Arabia.
Stay strong an may the power of the gloryhole be upon you now and forever, amen.
